Making the most of our innovative region
The Combined Authority coordinates the West Yorkshire Innovation Network (WYIN), which brings together a wide range of organisations providing innovation support to businesses in the region.
The WYIN connects local businesses with universities, government bodies, not-for-profits, and private sector organisations which can help them develop new ideas and ways of working.
The WYIN helps businesses to:
- Connect with potential partners who can share ideas and resources or help with creative problem-solving.
- Get access to support and funding from organisations like Innovate UK, the Catapult network, and Yorkshire Universities.
- Use specialist resources at its two innovation centres: Nexus at the University of Leeds, and 3M Buckley Innovation Centre at the University of Huddersfield.
Who is it for?
The WYIN is for every business based in West Yorkshire. Across all sectors, from small startups to established companies, every business can benefit from innovation.
With landmark events like the West Yorkshire Innovation Festival and the Mayor’s Innovation Challenge, the Combined Authority is committed to getting every business involved in creating the future of the local economy.
